UAE - Mubasher: flydubai has achieved net profits of AED 841 million ($229 million) in 2021, against net losses of AED 712.6 million ($194 million) in 2020.
The company's revenues jumped by 86% to AED 5.3 billion in 2021, compared to AED 2.8 billion in the earlier year, according to a press release on Monday.
The airline has recorded 5.6 million passengers last year, up from 3.2 million in 2020.
The Chairman of flydubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, commented: "The tremendous results flydubai is reporting for 2021 come after a very challenging two years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic."
Meanwhile, the CEO at flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said: "As demand returned these strong fundamentals have translated into a significant improvement in our financial performance."
